+94 77 3 276 277 Chat on WhatsApp Pre-Sales InquiriesWhat is a Windows cloud server?
A Windows cloud server is a virtual server running Microsoft Windows Server. You connect to its desktop over Remote Desktop (RDP) and use it like your own Windows computer in the cloud — to run business software, .NET websites, databases or trading platforms 24/7.
Do I get full RDP access?
Yes. You receive full Administrator access over Remote Desktop (RDP), so you can install software, change settings and manage users exactly as you need.
Is a Windows licence included?
Every server comes with a Windows Server evaluation licence that is valid for 180 days — ideal for setting up and testing. For long-term or production use you need a full Windows Server licence. We can supply one (send us a pre-sales inquiry for current pricing) or you can use your own licence.
What happens after the 180-day evaluation?
When the evaluation period ends, Windows starts to shut down regularly until a full licence is activated. Before the 180 days are up, ask us to activate a full licence or apply your own key so your server keeps running without interruption.
How many people can use Remote Desktop at the same time?
Windows Server allows two administrator RDP sessions at the same time by default. If more staff need to work on the server together, Remote Desktop Services (RDS) user licences are required — we can help you plan this.
Where are Windows cloud servers located?
Windows cloud servers run in our European datacenter, on enterprise hardware with NVMe storage and DDoS protection.
What can I run on a Windows cloud server?
Popular uses include accounting and ERP software, .NET and IIS websites, Microsoft SQL Server databases, MetaTrader and other trading platforms, and remote desktops for staff who work from anywhere.
Can I upgrade my server later?
Yes. Move to a larger plan with more vCPU, RAM and NVMe storage as your needs grow. Your data stays on the server; the upgrade needs a short reboot.
How do I pay?
Windows cloud servers are billed monthly in Sri Lankan rupees. Pay online by Visa or Mastercard through PayHere from your Kandyanhost client area.
